The event went well. Enjoyed by the whole table I had arranged to go to the event. We shut the place down, and the organizers/hosts came to party with our table after things were done.
Many folks there had not met Smitten before. I am well known in all of those circles (business, film, music, new media, and political). I was pleased with the accolades directed toward her.
Smitten enjoyed herself as did I. I hope we will continue to go out like this.

we can't figure out why we seem to be doing the matching thing so much. we have attributed it to similar brain patterns or something...

thank-you. Smitten is not as tall as she may appear - she was wearing fairly high heels. she's a little over 5' 5".

there's a joke about how if two women wear the same outfit to a party it ruins their night, and one of them has to leave. if two guys wear the same outfit they become life-long buds and wander around the party getting hammered together and pointing each other's clothes out to everyone else at the party saying "SEE!!!"
Smitten tends towards the guy part of the above description. I have gone to change my clothes a few of the times when we have matched colours and/or fabrics, but she has stopped me.
being "same-sies" would have been anethema to Mrs_C. it's different...
we took the shots ourselves on timer, so we are not posed or arranged all that well
both of us look a little "pottier" than we are in real life, though we've both gained a few pounds over the winter
